The shortage of feed protein resources is a long-term situation faced by animal husbandry industry in China, and raw materials of feed protein usually account for a large proportion in animal diet, so formula cost is high. Therefore, the shortage of protein has not only become an crucial problem restricting the development of animal husbandry industry in China, but also an cause for the high cost of livestock and poultry production products. On the other hand, the low utilization rate of feed protein in animals will lead to the fermentation of undigested proteins in the hindgut and consequently produce harmful substances such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and cresol, which not only affect the intestinal health of animals, resulting in animal diarrhea, and reducing animal performance, but also aggravate the pollution to the environment. Improving the digestibility of feed protein is an vital measure to solve the above problems.

Adding protease to animal diet is one of the effective ways to improve the digestibility of feed protein. At present, proteases on the market can be roughly divided into three categories according to the optimal pH when they play a role, namely, acidic, neutral and alkaline proteases. However, there are some problems in the practical application of them, which greatly limits their application. The heat resistance of raw acid protease is poor, while the heat resistance of neutral and alkaline protease is slightly higher than that of the acid, but the acid resistance of those two is generally poor.

Thermostable Acid protease is a feed protease developed jointly by the Beijing Challenge Group Research Institute and the Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences(CAAS). The product is characterized by a remarkable improvement in heat resistance without coating and the like. The heat resistance of the water bath is significantly higher than that of similar products in the market. This product in practical application can obviously improve the digestion and utilization rate of the animal to the feed protein, improve the intestinal health, improve the production performance, and simultaneously reduce the feed cost and the pollution of the livestock and poultry excrement to the environment.

 

Characteristics of Thermostable Acid protease

High biosecurity

The strain comes from the key Laboratory of Feed Biotechnology of the Ministry of Agriculture of China, and the safety of the strain is higher.

Strong heat resistance

At 75℃ water bath for 90s, the retention of this product could reach 80%, which was significantly higher than that of similar products in the market.

Strong stability

The fermentation conditions are stable and controllable by liquid deep fermentation process. The production process of the product is under ISO9001, ISO22000, FAMI-QS, GMP  system.

 

pH Effect on Thermostable Acid protease

The optimum pH of Thermostable Acid protease is 3.5 and during pH 2.0-5.0 the retention is over 80%.

The optimum temperature of Thermostable Acid protease is 55 , and the retention was over 70% when the temperature is 40 .

Benefits in broilers

About 16000 healthy white feather broilers with the same age and similar body weight were randomly divided into two groups (such as the table below), 4 repeats per group, each repeat about 2000. The control group was fed with basic diet, the experimental group was fed with 100g/t challen acid protease on the basis of the basic diet. Except the different dietary composition, the feeding procedure, drinking water mode, management mode and immune procedure were carried out normally in each group. The trial lasted 39 days.

Compared with the control group, the survival rate of broilers in the experimental group was higher by 0.83% , the average weight for sale was increased by 48 g, F/G was decreased by 0.031. The growth performance of white feather broilers was significantly improved.

 

Definition of Challen acid protease

At a certain temperature(40℃±0.2℃)and corresponding pH(acid protease pH3.0), the amount of enzyme needed to hydrolyze casein into phenolic amino acid(represented by tyrosine equivalent) is defined as 1 unit of enzyme activity, represented by U.

Appearance:light yellow powder

Enzyme activity and package: 50 000 U/g;25 kg/bag

Species:Avian or Porcine

Dosage:100-200g/t complete feed for young animals ; 50-100 g/t complete feed for adult animals.

 

Shelf life and storage:

Store in dry and ventilated place for 12 months, avoiding direct sunlight and moisture.

 

Warnings:

Use it as soon as possible. Gradually dilute and mix when using. If any remain, seal tight after use.
